Anne was born Anna Maria Italiano on September 17, 1931 in The Bronx, NY. She took the name Louisa upon her confirmation.

Michael and Mildred (DiNapoli) Italiano. He was a patternmaker in Manhattan's garment district, she was a telephone operator for Macy's.

Two sisters:
Anne is the middle child, with an older sister, JoAnne, and younger sister, Phyllis.

Nieces and nephews:
JoAnne's children: Julie, Theresa, Francine, and Christina.
Phyllis' children: Michael, JoAnne, Paula, and Ruth.

Martin May (from July 1, 1953 to February 13, 1957) (divorced, no children)
Mel Brooks (since August 5, 1964) (one child)

Max Brooks, born May 22, 1972 in NY.
Given name "Maximilian Michael Brooks" --
named after paternal grandfather, Maximilian Kaminsky and maternal grandfather, Michael Italiano.

Stepmother to:
Stefanie, Nicky and Eddie Brooks.

Max's wife, Michelle Kholos (married in 2003), is a playwright.

Max, a former writer for Saturday Night Live, lives in New York City with his wife, his son, and his miniature dachshund, Maizey. More about Max here.

The birth of Anne's grandson, Henry Michael Brooks, was announced in March 2005.

Date of death:
Passed away at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City on June 6, 2005.

Cause of death:
Uterine cancer

She is interred at the Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, New York, near her father, Michael Italiano.
